So you finally have your website online and you have spent hours upon hours getting everything to look just the way you want it to. Everything is perfect -- or so it seems. What will your site look like on other people's computers? There are a number of browsers available online and just because your site looks good in one browser doesn't mean that it will look as good in other browsers. As a web developer it is vital to code a website so that it is compatible across multiple browsers. Before you hire a designer, webmaster or developer you will want to make sure to ask them if they design sites to look good in all browsers available. There are three very commonly used web browsers that should be considered with every site. Make sure you have the latest version of each of these web browsers. Not only will your site differ among browsers but it will change depending on the version of the user's browser as well. 1. Internet Explorer : http://www.microsoft.com 2. Mozilla FireFox : http://www.mozilla.com 3. Apple Safari : http://www.apple.com 4. Netscape Navigator : http://browser.netscape.com/ 5. Opera : http://www.opera.com When developing a site you should consider your audience and make sure that your site will look good even if their browser is out of date or their screen size is really small. Additionally that brings up the question of mobile websites. What does your site look like on your BlackBerry? How about on a Palm Pilot? How about on the iPhone?
